Funeral Services Association is an organization with over 80 national members, dedicated to supporting and developing the funeral industry in Romania. Founded with the aim of creating a solid network of professionals, ASF promotes good practices, transparency and innovation in this essential field.

Meet the ASF Management Team
The leadership of the Funeral Services Association is made up of dedicated professionals who act with responsibility, active involvement and a clear vision for the development and worthy representation of the funeral industry in Romania. Through the decisions taken and the strategic directions proposed, they contribute to the consolidation of a united community, in support of all ASF members.

Cristea Andrei

Cristea Vlad-Andrei is the president of the Funeral Services Association and the company representative SC Beligi SRL, an authorized funeral home company in Bucharest, with over 30 years of experience in the field.
It operates in the complete funeral services sector and actively contributes to the development of the funeral industry in Romania, by promoting quality services and supporting a coherent legislative framework.
He is dedicated to a clear visions: accessible, dignified and uniformly organized funeral services throughout the country.
Within Funeral Services Association, aims to strengthen relations between the members of the Association and develop a functional and coherent framework for the entire funeral industry in Romania.
It is initiator of the Funeral Expo Fair Alba Iulia, the first event of its kind organized in Romania by a professional association in the funeral field, dedicated to promoting transparency, collaboration and innovation in the industry.
Zelch Ervin

Founder of Ervin Funeral Home, established in 2013, with activity in Teleorman county and offices in the municipalities of Alexandria and Zimnicea.
Actively involved, since 2016, in professional associations, with the main objective development and modernization of the funeral sector from Romania, as well as its alignment with high legal and ethical standards.
Mr. Ervin's academic background includes graduation from the Orthodox Theological Seminary and the Faculty of Orthodox Theology, and he is currently a student at the Faculty of Medicine.
It is thanatopractician and trainer in the field of thanatopraxia, activities that complement its professional expertise and contribute to the development of a regulated and professional framework in the field of funeral services.
Ardelean Dan

Dan Ardelean has been working in the funeral field for over 18 years, both in Romania and abroad, with a solid background in thanatopraxia and funeral management, with professional training in France. He held the position of head of the prosecution service within a university clinic in Brussels, where he coordinated, for 12 years, the medical activity related to necropsy technique and organic macroscopy.
He is a constant supporter of implementation of thanatopraxia in Romania, and since 2011 has been campaigning for the integration of this practice in a legal and organized manner. In the year 2016, officially participated, as a specialist, alongside the working team within Ministry of Health, in the process of remediation of the legislative framework regarding GD 741.
He was also actively involved in collaborating with National Institute of Medicine and Sanitary-Veterinary Sciences (INMSS) for the training of thanatopractitioners in Romania – an essential step in the professionalization of this field.
Together with his wife, Violeta Ardelean, returned to the country after 20 years, in order to participate in the development of this field of activity, to shape it, in a way that it could work safely both technically and economically and to protect the investments of the real funeral service providers. These beliefs led them to join the Funeral Services Association.
Currently, the Ardelean family manages a Cso Funerrary in Romania, offering complete funeral services and consultancy, being actively involved in promoting a transparent, regulated and modern funeral system, in support of providers and bereaved families.
Văduva Bogdan

Bogdan Văduva represents a funeral service company SC FUNEBRA SRL which operates in Brașov.
The company was founded in 2001, became known domestically and internationally through the advertisement ""WHETHER YOU WANT IT OR NOT, YOU CAN COME TO US"From the beginning, he wanted to offer complete and quality funeral services, which is why he participated in specializations and experience exchanges.
Mr. Văduva is working on the company's most important project so far, namely the construction of a ,"MULTI-CONFESSIONAL HUMAN CEMETERY".
It is founding member of the profile association and wishes to meditate on improving legislation and its compliance.

Pasztor Marta is a representative of the company Funeral Villas from Târgu Mureș, with over 33 years of experience in the field of funeral services.
It fully coordinates the company's activity, providing complete services and support to families in difficult times.
Sirbu Ionut

Sirbu Ionut has been operating in the funeral industry since 2011, drawing on 24 years of experience in embalming and preparing deceased persons. To further shape this activity, it has developed a related segment – catering – which has involved expanding into the kitchen, a sector where hygiene and fairness are essential and allow no mistakes.
As a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine, he had the courage and motivation to establish a private ambulance service - a major professional achievement, which complemented the funeral activity through the services of ascertaining and issuing the medical certificate of death, in accordance with legal provisions.
His experience The knowledge accumulated in the 24 years of embalming, cosmetization and preparation of bodies was consolidated by deepening thanatopraxia, with the help of two trainers from France. They significantly contributed to the shaping of a training curriculum in this field at the national level. Thanks to this collaboration and the mentorship offered by the luminary in medical sciences, the French diplomat Dan Transylvania, can today state that he has the professional fulfillment of carrying out all services dedicated to deceased persons – united under the scientific name of thanatopraxia – with full ethics and empathy towards their relatives.
He is convinced that currently authorized funeral service providers in Romania can reach a much higher professional level, and together they can contribute to raising standards in this field.
Dodu Catalin

Eng. ec. Cătălin Dodu is the founder and administrator of the company Funeral Union from Tecuci, established in 2010 as an economic division of AARD-CAR Unirea Tecuci, one of the oldest aid associations in Romania (active since 1882). Under his leadership, the company became a local landmark in complete funeral services – from its own chapel, thanatopraxia laboratory, transport and recovery, to the hall and kitchen for organizing memorials.
In 2015, he symbolically inaugurated a belfry in the courtyard of the Funeral Home, a unique element, meant to accentuate the solemnity of the place.
Actively involved in the professional organization of the funeral field, his company is member of the European Federation of Funeral Services (EFFS) since 2014.
In 2019, Cătălin Dodu was elected auditor of EFFS, a position he still holds, being in his third term. He participated in the founding meeting of the ASF in February 2020, being the author Statute and Articles of Association of the Association, as well as of Code of Ethics drafted in 2021.
With over 20 years of experience in associative activity, he is currently serving his second term as ASF censor.
